Partly cloudy, hazy sun, cool and damp at 50 degrees (10 degrees Celsius) and 83% humidity. Need to pick up a few things at the grocery store but finding it hard to get moving.
In much more interesting news, a new edition of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn is due out -- except it will be missing two words, and they're exactly the ones you think. I haven't read past the first page of comments (the article is in Entertainment Weekly), but the majority on that page are surprisingly civil.

Date: 2011-01-05 12:50 am (UTC)In happier news, after a MONTH I finally have telephone service in my new apartment. It turns out the first telephone technician didn't connect the wires properly in the main panel and whoever installed the wires in the building didn't connect them to my apartment. The tech warned I'd be sent a bill and I said fine, I'll just give it to my landlord. Did I mention that all of the doorknobs are installed upside down? I think the light fixture above my dining room table is installed upside down as well.

Date: 2011-01-05 12:58 am (UTC):D I'm sorry, but in the context of "I don't have to deal with it" this is incredibly funny. What else is awry, and did you perhaps unwittingly move into a deliberately surrealist flat? I'd expect the hot and cold taps to be reversed also, and possibly for the bath to be in the kitchen, and of course for the doors to be locked one must unlock them...
