"We were cast-iron back in those days."
Jan. 23rd, 2013 09:59 pmYe gods, I'd forgotten all about the Magic Drabble Generator until I was reminded tonight. Here's a sample:
A Passionate Day To Bounce
Wilson stepped curtly out into the spiffy sunshine, and admired House's leg. "Ah," he sighed, "That's a shiny sight."
House climbed off the paprika and walked wildly across the grass to greet his lover. Wilson patted House on the eye and then tried to bounce him dreamily, but without success.
"That's all right," House said. "We can try again later."
"I'm just not clever," said Wilson. "Not as clever as the time we bounced above the clouds."
House nodded heartily. "We were cast-iron back in those days."
"Our ears were younger, and we had a lot more fun with them," Wilson said. "Everything seems tasty and blue when you're young."
"Of course," House said. "But now we're pickled, we can still have fun. If we go about it happily."
"Happily?" Wilson said . "But how?"
"With this," House said and held out a splendid horse. "Just take that with some water and in half an hour, you'll be ready to bounce."
Wilson swallowed the horse at once and sure enough, in half an hour, they were able to bounce happily. They bounced like a flash of the setting sun. Three times.
And then the neighbour told them to get off his lawn.
:D

Fandom y u no care?
Dec. 13th, 2012 12:59 pmSo there's hockey RPF. And baseball RPF and football RPF (American and world), and probably other sports RPF. But I don't think there's cricket RPF. And considering Mister Kevin Pietersen, I have to wonder ...

... why not? I mean, I looked in AO3 and I didn't see any "cricket" tags (for the game).
I once had a plotbunny where House discovers Wilson knows how to play cricket. I should revisit that ...

I baked cookies today. Which was something of a personal achievement, as I'd never baked cookies before. *g* I don't know why -- my mom used to make chocolate chip cookies all the time. I'd just never tried it. So I used this recipe (for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies) that I'd seen Tumblr'd by
hannahrorlove, although I followed the comments and added more spices (ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cardamom) and left out the second cup of chocolate chips and all of the chopped walnuts. By the second batch I'd learned I needed to squish them down a little with the back of the spoon. Heh.
But they're good! And I learned a lot. Go me. :D

Saturday, Poetry Month, and A PREDICTION
Mar. 31st, 2012 12:04 pmWarm, partly cloudy, and HUMID AGAIN. GRRAR. No rain, though, so I need to water everything on the deck (including the tomatoes, which so far are doing fabulously).
Tomorrow is April 1st, and we all know what that means. IT'S NATIONAL POETRY MONTH! And just like in years past (since 2008, as a matter of fact), I'll be celebrating by posting a poem a day (except on weekends). As always, they'll be in their own post, behind a cut, so folks who would prefer not to read can easily scroll past. Comment if you feel like it, don't if you don't. It's just an opportunity to post something a little bit different. :-)
So. I've been reading the latest round of spoilers and press releases, and I was talking with some friends this morning, and I was STRUCK WITH AN EPIPHANY. It was painful, but I soon recovered. ( My prediction for the 'House' series finale ... )
Remember chiclets -- YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST. :-D

Beautiful day, cool, breezy, some clouds with just the possibility of rain. Sweeping & Swiffering the kitchen floor (dog hair! dog food! omg!), keep having to sit down and rest. LOL.

Front did indeed come through last night, during the first fifteen or so minutes of House, which caused Chango to jump up and start barking and us to start yelling "CHANGO! NO! SHUSH!" because we couldn't hear the TV. :-D
So it is COOL today -- 61 degrees (16.1 degrees Celsius), with gusty north winds.
( In medical news ... )
The fun, it never ends. But. Still reading The Marriage Plot and am about three-quarters of the way through. :-D
