Making shrimp-stuffed poblanos for dinner, with a creamy cheese (Jarlsberg) sauce. We've made stuffed poblanos before, with chicken. They can be a pain to prepare, but for once the ones at Kroger looked really fresh.

ETA: A success (mostly). Next time I would put less flour in the sauce (my fault) and add something with more tang -- maybe lime juice, and yogurt or sour cream in the sauce. Still, it was very good. :-)

Wanting to write.

I am taking things kind of easy because ... I think my emotions, though they're happy ones, sort of wore me out today.

Also, it is so humid here that the toilet tank is sweating on the outside as if it were full of ice, instead of mere tap water. I've turned on the air conditioning to try and help, but it's not all that effective up here in the Hobbit Hole, and there's nobody around to help me get the window unit up here tonight.

And I, too, am wanting to write. I mean, I always want to write, but this is ... different.

It's warm and humid here too. Bleh.

Buzzer just went off -- back after dinner. :-)

Gah, I hate when the toilet does that! It is still warm and humid here, too--I don't know if we're going to open the windows or not. Hm.

*waves to Nightdog and Mare's muses*
Come on over! You hear what they're saying? :)

I was trying to cope by keeping the upstairs windows open, but there is NO breeze at all, so it was just getting worse and worse. And all I have up there is one tiny intake vent and one tiny AC/heat vent in the floor, so ... I am currently in the basement with the laptop, where it's cool enough to be comfy.

Putting on a little music and some mostly-decaf (I don't have to be up early tomorrow) and I'm hopeful that some good creative things will result.

*watches my flist*
*makes encouraging noises*

Me, I don't have the same creative urge tonight. But maybe I should open a window anyway...

*waves goodnight*

I'm taking a notebook and pen on vacation, so maybe some writing will happen.

Yay! Sometimes a notebook and pen is all you really need. More than that, I hope you get some good RELAXATION. Just think -- NO HARVEY.

Have a fabulous time, hon. I adore St. Augustine, but haven't been there in so, so long.

Will be interested to hear your impressions of the Castillo de San Marcos, if you tour it. And Anastasia State Park is gorgeous, with its long sloping shoreline where you can wade way on out into the ocean. And the stunted oak trees, bent into bonsai shapes by the wind off the water. And the stripey lighthouse poking up above it all.

*sighs*

Key lime juice makes most everything better, you know.

I just watched the Sherlock Holmes movie, and I understand why my flist was so crazy about it. It was pure House and Wilson. Wild.
