Bright and sunny and cool. Woke up with a headache, which is gradually easing off. Blah.

Finished Creechville (and I should stop calling it that, it's not its real name) last night. Right now it's 17,880 words. I need to go through it with a fine-tooth comb and make sure I haven't committed any enormous plothole gaffes, but I think it'll go up for Halloween. It really feels good to have finished something.

Waiting on coffee to brew.

Coffee has brewed, over here, and I just had breakfast, and in about 20 minutes I'll be out the door. Going trail riding with Kelly, because it's a gorgeous day despite the forecast having been for Partly to Mostly Crappy with a Chance of Suck.

So I'm a very happy Mare this morning.

Hope everyone else has a lovely, lovely day. No clue when I'll return.

Taking my camera and fresh batteries with me. You've got to see how BLACK my black mare is now!! And she has these little subtle dapples that only show up in the sheen of her coat rather than as a difference in the color.

OMG CUTE.

And did I mention she's FAT?!!? Oy.

I won't be riding her today. Well, not on the trail anyway; if things work out perhaps we'll ride in the indoor arena a little.

Don't know which horse I'll be on for the trail, actually. Don't care; I get to ride yay!!

I know...I"m really late as usual...but I have situational envy...srsly. =D

I've been riding once in my life and it was really kool!

Can't wait to see pics of Twilight's blacker coat! I'm sure she's totally gorgeous! FAT?! She must be happy, then, too.

Good morning!

It's another chilly day here, with a frost advisory tonight. It's supposed to warm up again over the next few days, but I was actually wishing I'd worn long sleeves to bed last night. *brrr*

We will be working in the yard again today, as soon as the sun gets over the house and warms up the back yard.

I've been putting my heavy chenille robe on the bed the past few nights -- we're supposed to get another, stronger cold front this week so I'll probably put the quilt on then.

I love it when it gets cool at night like this.

I like the cooler nights too. And thank heavens we've been getting mid-sixties at night for almost a week now! I've been sleeping so well!! =D

Not chenille robe weather yet, though. *sighs*

Just got your last postcard, and we had pancakes in our building managers' rooms just now (once a month -- this month's were apple cinnamon). After a sucky day yesterday, things are off to a better start.

Heh -- it's funny that Jadesfire2808 got all of her postcards last week, and she's in the UK. The cards for my U.S. and Canadian friends are still straggling in, and I can't even guess when Roga will get hers.

Pancakes sound wonderful! Glad today looks better for you. ♥

I kept meaning to tell you -- I got my last card yesterday. :-)

They're very happy-making and I appreciate them so much.

Got between four and five hours of sleep last night. I'll try to finish a fic today and maybe start on another. The weightlifting meet went as well as I'd expected it to, and I even got a trophy out of the deal.

*cheers for you*

I weight-trained in highschool and a little in college, but never competed. How long have you been at it?

I did it for a couple semesters at the tail end of high school, dropped out of it for three years, then took it up again a little over a year ago. I started with very simple stuff and a fair amount of machine work, then moved onto freeweights and Olympic and powerlifting moves when I realized I'd get a better workout that way.

Kool! Do you do the whole "clean" diet thing, as well? I'm slowly working at getting back in shape. Everytime I see a person in their 60's hobbling around and being stiff it makes me cringe. Don't want to end up like that due to inactivity or something. I feel too young inside for that.
*shivers and shudders* UGH!

No; I eat my fair share of gourmet chocolate and enjoy hard cider and Diet Cokes. But I do my best not to eat food unless I've made it or I know exactly what's in it, which goes a long way towards cutting garbage out of my diet.

My basic dietary rules: eat lots of perishables, and don't eat anything with more than ten ingredients.

I have the same basic philosophy. LOL! Only I don't consume 'diet' or 'fat-free' anything if I can help it. They usually have to add more salt and sugar/substitutes or forms of MSG to make it taste better. :o(

Aspartame, splenda, saccharine etc. are bad for the body and can make one fat because of the chemical reaction going on in the body. I use Kal brand Stevia. See it here: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31CNZ41HR6L._SL500_AA280_.jpg
This bottle is also small enough to carry around with me to restaurants or where-ever else I have to go. Plus it has 905 servings in it! I'll have it for awhile, so the price is worth it.

Stevia is it's own plant, so this sweetener is not a derivative of something else. If you're at all curious about it you can read this article. It's rather lengthy, but worth the read. http://www.puresweet.com.au/Text/1122341279234-2458/pC/1122340120750-4322/HISTORY

This Creechville intrigues me and I wish to subscribe to its newsletter.

Heh! Very much yay, local collegiate football team. *g*

I hope folks like Creechville -- it's got some echoes of Welcome To Wherever You Are, but overall I think it's a better story, with a couple of OCs that I really like.

And no scorpions. ;-)

I am still benched (or couched) due to yesterday's incident with the tripping and the toes and the floor (I also have a split from the dry air in one of my big toes, and Chris refers to this combination of injuries as 'Krakatoa'. He was summarily groaned at for his sins.) So I have a terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side (or, well, hips, knees and other assorted joints on the left). The cats and the nearly-seven year old think that this is marvelous fun, getting to climb all over mummy.
Will probably post fic when I'm done going through my open tabs: am working on the house/wilson road trip to head-smashed-in buffalo jump (and other places in that region); it's bunnying me similar to the antarctica one although is probably not going to turn out as well imo. (that is probably my favorite piece I've written, though, so it's a high benchmark. I'm okay that it's not likely to better. <3
I'm glad you are well and YAY about finished things (there's some stuff in that one that's a tad bit triggery for me so I am passing on it, but it will undoubtedly be excellent.)
How is Chango? Has she barked at anything random today?

Heh. Sometimes I think the older I get the more I hurt myself -- burning my fingers, walking into the coffee table, backing into an open door, bumping my head on the wide-open freezer door. Gah. It's pathetic.

Totally understand about triggers -- I find it terribly difficult to read any sort of Hurt!House fic (I know, go figure). You could probably read most of Part One and all of the Epilogue, but as I said to warmdarkwoman, the story overall has some distinct echoes of Welcome To Wherever You Are, which was pretty darn angsty.

Chango has not barked at anything, although she has growled, but we don't know at what. Something only she could see, obviously. *g8

Hello!

Z is napping--she had a bit of a restless night last night, poor darling, but she's napping hard now--and the Mr has (mostly) left me to my own devices during this downtime, which is nice. And I'm having tea and bouncing between my artword fic and my MSoRD, which is really coming together (I'm doing the last little touches on it, making sure it's ready to submit). And keeping my fingers crossed that Z stays asleep another half-hour--she was restless enough last night that she really needs a solid 2 hour nap today...

I'm hoping that finishing this gives me the impetus to work more on some of the other fics that have been languishing, like Eurydice and maybe the Wild West thing.

You should get three postcards! Maybe the last one will come Monday ...

I received three! One earlier (from NS), and two on Friday (from NS and PEI). So I think I have all of them now.
