So. The roasted duck was delicious. [livejournal.com profile] warmdarkwoman, the sparkler we ended up getting was the 2005 Domaine Carneros/Taittinger. We went to Domaine Carneros in Napa Valley a couple of years ago and it was one of the best winery experiences we've ever had -- their sparkling wine is very, very good and, at about $25, a really decent buy.

Moved all the deck plants back outside and watered (and Chango helped). Mr. N raked leaves off the deck (and Chango helped). I twisted my ankle just a bit (surprisingly enough, Chango did not help).

A nice quiet night. The happiest and most peaceful of holidays to all who are celebrating this season. Sláinte.

Indeedy I did. :)

And I am, surprisingly enough, online for a little bit tonight--we're at home for the first time since we've been married!--and I'm back to have a little me-time before bed. The Mr hasn't been feeling so great, so he's sleeping. I had expected it to be rather quiet on the f-list tonight. *hugs*

It's actually been pretty quiet most of the day, and tonight it's really fallen off.

Did Z have a good day? Do you guys open presents tonight or tomorrow morning?

Z had a very good day--a good nap, and she was her very cheerful self. She has finally started saying no, only she says it 'No, no, no," with kind of a descending pitch and it sounds terribly polite and is hilariously cute.

We will open presents tomorrow morning--I finished wrapping the last of them tonight after Z went to bed. And it's been a relatively quiet day here, too--I went grocery shopping, which probably shouldn't have waited, and managed to put up valances in the guest room, so that's all cozy(er).

But the Mr. was complaining a little because it wasn't like our Christmas Eve was special--we didn't do anything much different from a normal Wednesday night, and we ended up eating chickpea tuna salad because we both forgot, when making the grocery list, to plan a meal for tonight, so we had a fridge full of food we couldn't eat. Heh.

Whatever. I feel like I had a great Christmas Eve. :) (It was snowing the most perfect picturesque snow this morning when we woke up. A pain to drive in, but it was beautiful.)

Greetings!

I'm home from the Greyhound Christmas Eve gathering, which was quite nice, and am now settling in with a cup of hot minty decaf tea and slowly re-warming self after the drive.

Someone sent me a lovely box full of oranges, honey, and cookies! And a little plushie bee!

*grins*

So I get to have Florida oranges on Christmas morning, and that? Is really, really smile-making.

Happy holidays!

I am brewing minty tea, also--it will be ready right about the time I'm finished with my Bailey's ice cream. :)

OH OH OH YOU KNOW WHAT?

They had a 5 lb. box of clementines on sale today at the store, and usually I pass them by because they're $$, but today they were $5.98, which I went \o/! and I bought them. And I ate one tonight, and it was delicious.

Ha! Clementines are AWESOME fruit. Tiny little tangerines of pure goodness.

And it peeled so easily! So wonderful!

(I don't eat the regular navel oranges we get, because they are SUCH a pain in the ass to peel. But these were awesome, and I have a feeling if the Mr wants any he's going to have to get moving on eating his share...)

Heh. I forgot the box included a plushie bee. That's actually what drew my attention to the illustration in the catalog -- this silly, cute bee grinning out at me.

I'll make this a tradition -- every Christmas, you get Florida oranges. *g*

*HUGS*

I am slowly getting myself all wrapped up in warm fuzziness for the night. Need to get into PJ top and robe; already have PJ pants and two pair of thick socks on. The last time/temp sign I saw on my way home read -2, which explains a lot. :-)

Missing my family right now, but other than that I'm doing fine. Kelly is bound and determined to start teaching me to ski and/or snowboard tomorrow afternoon, so no matter what else happens, I know I'll have a Christmas to remember!

Prosecco, if I recall, is slightly sweet? That sounds nice for New Year's Eve.

And yes. Peace.

See Chango knows when to lay low :). Hope your ankle is feeling better. It is very cold here and the wind is whipping the storm windows even more violently than they usually are.
