So so SO tired, due to being awakened at four-something in the morning by the electronic chirp of our Verizon FiOs backup battery. This is the device that, if you were to lose power, would theoretically give you enough juice to use the Internetz, watch TV, and make desperate 911 calls on your landline as the zombies creep ever closer. When it starts to run out of juice, it chirps, not unlike a smoke detector when it needs a new battery, except the Verizon FiOs battery is a bitch to replace because it's the size and approximate weight of a heavy brick, and if you don't replace it in time, the zombies win you lose whatever FiOs connection you have and the router, the TV, and the landline phone go dead. I know, I don't get it either. It all seems terribly counter-intuitive, but it's happened before.

ANYWAY. The chirping was a false alarm -- I read online that sometimes the backup system can be reset (it involves unplugging the battery and detaching the two leads from the terminals), so that's what I tried. And it APPEARS to have worked. But I was still up at four-something in the morning.

In other news, lately I have found myself watching Da Vinci's Demons on Starz. Apparently I like to see Tom Riley (Leonardo) and Elliot Cowan (Lorenzo de' Medici) together. It is a hugely silly show (a couple of weeks ago, Leonardo gave Lorenzo a blood transfusion to save his life) but enjoyable.

And the wind has been blowing like a fucking motherfucker all fucking day. I hates it.
