... on tonight's House ...
So who had/has syphilis? Besides the patient, I mean? Who ... actually didn't have it? I mean, that was somebody's blood. Somebody who has syphilis, because as far as I know you can't fake a test result like that. And if it was blood that House had deliberately placed there, and labeled as his own for his team to find (and immediately perform tests on -- let's not even get into the ethics of that), then whose was it?
Is there a really obvious answer that's staring me right in the face?
And Foreman? Smokin' hot in that gorgeous suit with the little pinstripe, the pale blue shirt and the golden tie. Oh. My. God.

Date: 2008-04-29 02:42 am (UTC)House could have gotten the blood from any of the idiots he runs across in the clinic. Although why he'd hang onto a vial of syphilis-tainted blood "just in case" is a mystery. And Amber is evil, but I think she has no idea just exactly how manipulative Wilson truly is. My husband actually paused the TV halfway through the episode to shout "Wilson's not behaving right! He's too passive." It turned out Corgiguy's instinct was completely correct. :)

Date: 2008-04-29 02:46 am (UTC)Answer: way too much fun to stand back and eat chips while House and Amber fight.
It really didn't occur to me, though, until someone said so, that Wilson was intentionally setting them up to fight. I thought he was letting them, and enjoying the spectacle a bit, but that wasn't quite it, was it?
Perhaps he just wants to get it over with. Let the two dogs fight, see what happens, let it play out before Wilson himself gets too deeply involved.
In any case, I can't help feeling that both House and Amber deserve what Wilson is doing. And I love me some Wicked!Wilson. He's much more like the Wilson we knew back in Season 1, I think.

Date: 2008-04-29 02:50 am (UTC)It took me a minute to realize, after the show had ended, just exactly what Wilson had done.
He is the Master.

Date: 2008-04-29 02:55 am (UTC)Because Cuddy took it upon herself to make both of them "lose a finger" for violating Wilson's agreement. And Wilson, bless his wicked little heart, thought it was extremely amusing.
I wonder how long before House figures out what his bestest buddy is up to?

Date: 2008-04-29 02:49 am (UTC)I adored Wilson's response to that revelation -- he was so amused, almost in awe. I've missed that Wilson, the one who cracks up at House instead of lecturing him.

Date: 2008-04-29 11:29 pm (UTC)That said, Wilson's bastardliness about the whole situation sets up the fight that he and Shelob will have in the next episode.
And I love that Wilson can't get it up when drunk.

Date: 2008-04-29 02:42 am (UTC)And then, when House faked the brain cancer, it turned out that the original "cancer" patient had syphilis, not cancer. So House could have used his blood, too.

Date: 2008-04-29 02:47 am (UTC)Heh! House must have some kind of Super Sekrit Stash o'Blood in his office. ;-D

Date: 2008-04-29 02:58 am (UTC)So not only would the nosy party or parties get the shock of finding out that House had syphilis, but then House would get to screw with their minds by pretending that the treatment was changing him.

Date: 2008-04-29 03:03 am (UTC)As for Foreman, while I know Omar Epps is an attractive man, he just does nothing for me. I never, ever think of Foreman as "hot."
Wilson, on the other hand, was ... not "hot" so much as un-freaking-believably adorable. I love it that he had to stay and munch chips, watching Cuddy do House's performance review.
As for House's own "review" of Cuddy? That part really touched me, his barb-covered attempt to tell her that he does respect and care for her. It was very interesting to find that he gives that much depth of thought to the people he cares about.
ETA: Makes me wonder what kind of "review" he'd give to Wilson.

Date: 2008-04-29 03:18 am (UTC)But we've already -- back in the episode when we learned about Long Lost Brother -- seen House snooping into Wilson's confidential medical files. That's how House knew; the only thing that surprised me was that it surprised Wilson that House had that information.

Date: 2008-04-29 04:03 am (UTC)Seriously, though, I had a lot of fun watching this episode. House in black=HOT Y/N? Kutner was the most adorablest. Except then there was WILSON, being EVEN MORE ADORABLEST, with the hand-waving in Cuddy's office and the Drunk!Wilson. And House's little smiles, all over the ep! I want Lisa E.'s arms, holy cow.
And Wilson Wins. Hands down. It's gotta feel great, having a pair of people literally at each other's throats for pieces of your day. :)

Date: 2008-04-29 04:17 am (UTC)But you're right -- this episode? Wilson wins totally for making everyone else fight over him like wild animals. Hee!

Date: 2008-04-29 10:18 am (UTC)But I am still confused about the whole thing. I feel like I missed out on something that everyone else but me gets, but I don't know what it is.
Also, the thing with syphilis - it's never usually tested with a simple, single blood test. It is not unheard of for syphilis to have a false positive, which is why it's always (supposed to be) cross tested with another type of test that examines the antibodies in the blood which identify syphilis - which, that particular test was never performed. So, it's possible it wasn't even syphilis, just a false positive. Much the same as the potw's diagnosis of having neurosyphilis - because that's an infection of the brain and spinal chord, the spinal fluid is always tested to confirm the diagnosis. This test was never performed.
THE MEDICINE WAS VERY CONVOLUTED AND CONFUSING THIS WEEK. But! There was loads of Wilson, some awesome House/Wilson scenes, and a House/Cuddy scene at the end that made me swoon. Thus, I am happy. And Chase! It was a delight to see him on screen, too.

Date: 2008-04-29 02:54 pm (UTC)I know that none of us want the show to turn completely into Gray's Anatomy, but I confess that at this point, the soap opera is all that I care about.
