Cloudy. Warm (75). Possible thunderstorms later today and tonight. Chango is already nervous.

Have discovered why I have been feeling so oddly "off" the past few days. Apparently ... I have shingles. For God's sake. I HAD CHICKEN POX WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID. WHY IS THE VIRUS STILL HERE? *INSERT LOTS OF REALLY BAD WORDS*

Gah. Gah gah gah. DO NOT WANT! DO NOT WANT VARICELLA-ZOSTER VIRUS, DO NOT WANT TO GO TO THE DOCTOR, DO NOT WANT!!! *THROWS UNSEEMLY TANTRUM*

*sigh* Okay, that's a little better. Poem coming up in a bit, and a Houseficlet later today.

I guess it's too late to go get the anti-shingles meds? I hope it's a mild case and not painful afterward.

Well, the first bits of rash started yesterday (although I didn't know what it was then), and it's come out more today (the classic back-around-the-ribs-to-the-front pattern). The online sources say 72 hours so I should still have time.

From what they told me when Mom had them, the meds help prevent lingering nerve pain afterward. I know you're not jumping with joy at the thought of going to the doctor, but it might be worth it to avoid that.

Maybe they'll call the RX in for you if you're convincing enough on the phone.

It's funny -- I was going to have to go to the doctor sometime in the next 2 weeks for my regular exam and refills on my hypertension/cholesterol meds. So it's ridiculously appropriate.
