Overcast, warm and humid. 85 degrees (29.4 Celsius). Read the first chapter of Olive Kitteridge last night and really enjoyed it.

Need to run a couple of errands. Refilled the bird dish, blue jays have been coming to drink and take splashing baths in it. On the other hand, some marauding bastard squirrel has managed to knock down the small bird feeder. Also need to update nightdog_writes. I've been neglecting it ...

Tuesday Night

Went to the county tax office this afternoon in order to pick up new license plates. Basically, when your car or truck or whatever reaches seven years of age, you have to get new license plates. Which wouldn't be any big deal, except that it's the county tax office, and over the centuries years I've gotten more and more frazzled about standing in line for what could potentially be hours (because, hello, tax office), waiting to see someone who could say "No, these are not the right papers, who are you again?"

But there were only three people in line ahead of me.

And there was a young cottontail rabbit in our backyard this evening.
