Tuesday

Very cloudy and cool (73 degrees), and very humid, but not raining, for the first time since Friday. Weather guys were showing rain totals last night, and where we live got about six and a half inches overall. Everything is muddy and swampy and very, very green.

Must pick up shirts and go to the store today (husband helpfully wrote e79s on the list). More later, but here is a weird and vaguely disturbing story from China about a snake with a foot. A real, clawed foot. Eeek!

And in other news, a fascinating article from the NY Times is underneath the cut, about celebrating Rosh Hashana in a small New Hampshire town, 1919 style. It's a terrific read for anyone who loves history and food. *g*
