nightdog_barks1) Cleaned the hummingbird feeder and refilled it with nectar (which I made this morning, 1/2 cup white sugar, 2 cups water, boil until sugar is all dissolved which is to say boil for about 10 seconds, bing bang you're done). Layla helped by trying to snuffle the feeder as I was carrying it.
2) Emptied and refilled the bird dish on the deck and emptied the other random plant dishes. Skeeters were already trying to gain a foothold. Ugh.
3) Started reading T. Kingfisher's Jackalope Wives and Other Stories last night, and so far it is WONDERFUL. "Wooden Feathers," especially, is just such a great story. I also follow the author on Twitter, and she's pretty interesting.
4) Cloudy all day again today.
5) The honey cake is terrific with morning coffee. :D
