Was channel-surfing the other night and ran across something I didn't even know we got -- the El Rey Network. They were running a Stargate: Atlantis marathon, so I stopped and watched a few episodes (one of them was "Grace Under Pressure," episode 2.14, where Rodney is trapped in the sunken puddlejumper). I hadn't watched any SG:A in YEARS, and it was just so ... nice, to see these guys again. So that sent me to my Memories on LJ to look at some McShep fic that I hadn't read in forever, and Logopetria by [livejournal.com profile] lavvyan is still as good as it was ... ten years ago. :D

So anyway. It is too warm for this time of year, ugh. Currently reading Robert Jackson Bennett's City of Blades.

El Rey is awesome. They are always running something completely ludicrous. And it's the only place I've ever been able to find THE INCREDIBLE HULK reruns.

I was never able to get into SG:A, but I was always impressed (and a little intimidated) by the fans' intensity. Right now I'm trying to prevent myself from getting shanghaied into MAGNIFICANT SEVEN (damn you, Eric Close and your dimples!), but there are SO MANY pairings and SO MUCH fanfic! Fic writers still post stories! They still have Big Bangs! THEY STILL HAVE CONVENTIONS. And I still haven't seen a single episode of the show all the way through.

Stanley Cup starts tonight. After the Golden Knights pre-show the hockey itself may be anti-climactic. I'm rooting for the Caps because Ovechkin, but I wouldn't be put out that much by the Vegas team winning.

Remember Gate-House? I miss that a lot. Miss those days a lot.

And I miss you a lot, and keep trying to remind myself that she is still there; it's me that's gone away. But it's hard sometimes, you know? It's hard.

*hugs*

I still miss SG:A. It was my comfort TV, and some amazing fic came out of it.

Huh, I bet it’s owned by the same people who operate a station called COMET up here in Minnesota, which also runs old Stargate among other things. Though I don’t think I’ve seen Atlantis there yet, and I too would like to watch some reruns.

This trend of recycling older shows is one I have been enjoying. MeTV, COMET, GetTV, COZI — I’m watching Columbo and Murder, She Wrote, and all kinds of fun things.

Hey, Mare! I thought of you this morning because a publisher in Minneapolis is looking for interns to help them out, and it sounds like a ton of fun. You are probably too busy but you're the one I know in that area. https://coffeehousepress.org/pages/internships

OK, I know nothing about the content of what they publish, but their book covers are COOL: https://coffeehousepress.org/collections/new-forthcoming
