I mean, maybe not by the calendar, but hell's bells, it's 72 degrees (22.2 Celsius) outside with 74% humidity. The trees are blooming and leafing out and grass is growing. And see this flowerpot?

There's a wren's nest in there, with at least one tiny egg in it. It's right next to the deck, so I've placed some tomato fencing around it, because Layla is intensely interested in this tiny whirring thing that comes and goes from the "cave entrance," and has given the spot a good snuffle at least once.

In other news, finished Moon Over Soho and loved it; ordered the 3rd book in the series, Whispers Under Ground. Currently reading Steve Erickson's Shadowbahn, which is ... weird on multiple levels. It is a fairly short book and I am enjoying it, but it is pretty much Magical Realism nonstop, which is good for me but folks who do not care so much for it would probably throw the book across the room. :D

Also I have been indulging in Retail Therapy by ordering LOTS OF BOOKS, and this morning I picked up a tiny sterling silver wing (on a necklace) from an Etsy shop. These things are mostly billed as "angel wings" -- I see it as single hawk's wing instead.

If you enjoyed Moon Over Soho then I think you will love the rest of the series, because it is (in my opinion of course) the weakest of the lot. Do you like scarves? If so, there's an artist on Etsy who makes beautiful bird-themed ones. I've bought two for friends/family and they are lovely quality, though (of course) not warm.

I thought you might like a scarf to go with your pendant, which also ties back to your dream. :)
