My paperback edition of Stephen King's It is 1,153 pages long. I am on page 541. So it's taking a while. :D

We have been watching the baseball playoffs. We were pulling for the Cleveland Indians because Mister Nightdog_barks grew up in northeastern Ohio, but ... oh well. Now we're not really wedded to any one team. I mean, I suppose we should be rooting for the Houston Astros, because Texas, and Mister N wants them to win, but that may just be because they are playing the Hated Yankees and the enemy of one's enemy is one's friend. As they say.

Mine's 1,090. My guess is a smaller font. It did take me a while - but what a good journey it was. I'm looking forward to talking to you about it when you're done.

Who I'm rooting for in the baseball playoffs:
1-85: Astros
86-94: Cubbies
95: Dodgers (still can't forgive them moving, and it happened before I was born)
96: Rangers (yes, they're out, but they're my hometown team and I can't not)
97: A board meeting for the non-profit I work for at the college.
98: Food poisoning.
99: Getting hit by a bus.
100: The Yankees.

I still have not completely unpacked in my new house. All of our books are still in boxes because we decided to consolidate them onto the 3rd floor and I hardly ever go up there. I am already regretting it because I really LIKE the feel of books being shelved and stacked everywhere. Reach out and touch a book; that was our credo in the other house. This house is nearly twice as big as the old one and I think it might be too big. (Or maybe it's just more room for more books! Got any you want to get rid of, Nightdog?)

I read IT as a teenager and it was scary, but the thing that happens near the end to help defeat the monster was a huge squick for me (and still is). I liked (and like) CARRIE and THE STAND much, much better.

Do three things make a reply/catch-up?
