Had the weirdest dream early this morning in which I was talking to some kind of scientist/researcher (she was wearing a white lab coat, so she was legit?) who explained to me that we have weather in our brains, and that when a dream front comes through, we're actually dreaming different dreams at the same time in different parts of our brain.

What the what.

It should come as no surprise to you there's an Ursula K. Le Guin story kind of like that.

Makes sense to me.
Today on the bus I overheard a teenager ask his girlfriend "what does Y2K mean?" and she didn't know either. I felt SO OLD.

Dreams do light up different parts of the brain, so if you stretch "weather" to lightening (i.e. electrical impulses in the brain), your dream scientist is entirely correct, if a trifle poetic with the metaphors.
