I was trying to remember the author and title of an older Housefic last night. I knew it involved zombies (ha!) overrunning the hospital and a key scene with House and Wilson near the end, but for the life of me I couldn't remember anything else. At first I thought it might be [livejournal.com profile] triedunture's The Rampant Disease, but nope, that wasn't it. It was Perspi who remembered it was Rush Down Darkness, by [livejournal.com profile] starlingthefool (also here on AO3)! YAY! :D

So anyway it was fun looking at old fic. :-)

Also, here is our local 7-day forecast. If we can just hold out until Wednesday! *g*

That key scene is very memorable and I love that the fic gives it serious emotional consequences. /cryptic

(I went looking for zombie fics after Bombshells and the two you linked were the best ones. I love how different they are.)

Those temperatures, ugh. We had quite a few days this summer as hot as that - not exactly common around here, but likely to become more so with climate change - and that was already more than enough, thank you. Autumn apparently decided that September 1st is a good date to start the season, because it's been under 20°C and rainy since then...

Also, I wanted to ask if you have ever heard of a guy named Carl Schurz? He was a German revolutionary who emigrated to the US (after fleeing through the sewers and breaking his friend out of prison) and fought in the civil war before becoming senator and secretary of the Interior. I had never heard of him, but the article I read said that the name might be more well-known in the US? (Which wouldn't be hard because it isn't known at all over here.)

Ha, New Braunfels, that name just shouts German Immigrants. And Schurz himself is buried in Sleepy Hollow of all places!
