Saw an armadillo during last night's walk. Oh my god they are such funny critters. When it realized it was caught in my flashlight's beam, you could practically see the gears turning in its tiny varmint brain. "I have to hide! Here, I'LL CROSS THIS OPEN DRIVEWAY WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE ME." And then it did hide, in some shrubbery in front of some stranger's house. Layla was absolutely fascinated and wanted to go see this strange thing, but I wouldn't let her. :D

Have started reading Angela Flournoy's The Turner House, which is a multi-generational story of a black family in Detroit.

Overcast and warm today, with a temp of 85 degrees (29.4 Celsius) and 77% humidity.

It's cold here but I'm not complaining because we're supposed to get really high temperatures next week. I saw an argument the other day that Juneteenth should be a national holiday?
