Dog wanted out at three in the morning so I got up to let her out. There was a mockingbird singing. At 3 a.m. :D

Heeee, this is certainly wonderful! I came across this recording last year when I was hunting for the original of "Didn't it Rain" and loved it. She is amazing, and that visual of her attire with the electric guitar is too great.

Isn't she terrific? In the biography of Johnny Cash that I'm reading, he cited her as one of his most powerful musical influences, so I went looking for her on YouTube and WOW. I also really enjoyed her This Train and Up Above My Head. :D

Marvelous! I needed something to lift my spirits as I just heard that Alistair MacLeod died. Peter Matthiessen, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and now Alistair MacLeod, April is indeed the cruelest month.

... when you said Alistair MacLeod, my first thought was that you were talking about this guy, and I was all "OH NO, I REALLY ENJOYED BEAR ISLAND AND ICE STATION ZEBRA WHEN I WAS A KID."

But now! I am looking into No Great Mischief, and I read his short story The Boat, and I am very intrigued.
