Another Monday

Cooling down slowly here; the sky is bright blue and as clear as a bell.
1) Read Stephen King's Doctor Sleep and loved 90% of it. Couldn't put my finger on what annoyed/disappointed me about that other 10%, then saw a reviewer on Amazon nail it -- King grew too fond of one of his main characters to let anything bad happen to them. Killed the suspense.
2) Started James McBride's The Good Lord Bird.
3) Still enjoying Sleepy Hollow. Liked The Blacklist more than I thought I would, mostly because James Spader. Not sure about Agents of Shield -- I really WANTED to like it, but afterwards I was just meh.
4) The ending to Broadchurch was devastating, and, as folks had predicted, I was completely blindsided. What an absolutely amazing show. Olivia Colman really deserves all the awards.
5) The unintended thing I was writing seems to be done, although I haven't done a word count. Apparently it wants to be called Northern Light, and hopefully it will be posted soon.
6) There is no 6. Or there is, but I've just forgotten what it is. Which would be par for the course.
Obligatory "x things make a post."

Date: 2013-09-30 08:48 pm (UTC)I'm starting on some new things here -- portrait of another horse or two, mostly. It's been an interesting day, productive in all those small ways you forget if you don't pay attention. Am at J's at the moment, and I stopped by the post office that's en route between here and home. Picked up one package from Texas, and sent one out. There's a small Bonus Thing in there, a silly item I picked up back when I worked at Michael's, because I thought of you when I saw the design.

Date: 2013-09-30 09:30 pm (UTC)I liked the Blacklist, too, more than I thought I would, but I'm not sure it merits regular viewing for me. Sleepy Hollow is SO RIDICULOUSLY FUN. :D:D
YAY WRITING YAY

Date: 2013-09-30 10:22 pm (UTC)Yep, I am so pleased with Sleepy Hollow so far, but Blacklist ... I can see watching at least a few more episodes until I decide whether or not to stick with it. I don't want to devote time to something and then have it slip into The Following territory. ;-)

Date: 2013-10-01 04:16 am (UTC)I don't watch Breaking Bad, but we watched the last fifteen or so minutes of the last episode just to see what happened. :D
