Date: 2012-09-30 04:12 am (UTC)*g* I am watching Doctor Who for the second time tonight, after watching the incredibly exciting end to the Longhorns/Oklahoma State Cowboys game.

Date: 2012-09-30 04:36 am (UTC)I have to admit -- it is a Very Good cable package. I think it is Verizon's Silver or Platinum bundle, I can't remember which. We get a metric shit-ton of sports channels, plus every movie channel except Cinemax. IDK why we don't get Cinemax. I think if we did it would probably be called something like the Golden Parachute Cable Package of the Angels. Although I don't MISS Cinemax because all the movie channels exchange movies, and the only original series on Cinemax I might watch is Greg Yaitanes' Banshee and I'm not really interested in that.
What makes me sad is the absolutely visceral hatred I see sometimes on the meme for the Eleventh Doctor series. Sometimes it is scary.

Favorite starting point: There's a series of stories at whofic.com, by a writer named Soldeed, that I think you'd enjoy. Sol is one of the good, sane, fun ones, and he writes in an old-fashioned action-story style I eat up like popcorn. His Road to Shalka series is great even if, like me, you know nothing of Shalka or that particular incarnation of the Doctor.

Date: 2012-09-30 05:22 am (UTC)I was really frightened when we first meet Jasmine, thinking she was going to annoy the crap out of me, but no. I ended up liking her a lot.

But I'm happy for you, because I know you like the rain.
