Yeah, why don't you just gimme a nice paper cut, and pour some lemon juice on it?

:-P

Yeah, actually. I ought to be ashamed of myself, but yeah, it does.

I AM JUST ENVIOUS OF YOU AND YOUR RAIN AND YOUR PRICEY BBCA-INCLUDING CABLE PACKAGE.

Not so much envy for the football-watching, though. You can keep that.

Doctor Who fandom is quite possibly the wankiest, most vicious, most toxic fandom in existence. Well, large segments of it are. It was my first online fandom and I still have good friends I made there, but I found my way into what was in effect a little fallout shelter with a group of kind and reasonable fans. Um. Not unlike what I did in House fandom. Except the wanking of House fans is Amateur Night by comparison to Who fandom.

The Who fans have had decades of practice. Some of them are, indeed, really frightening.

I got hooked on the show at age ... 12 or 13. I don't get to see it now, because BBCA and/or Netflix are luxuries I can't afford, but my love for Nine (seen most of his eps courtesy of friends with DVDs) is boundless.

If you love Eleven, chances are I will too. Meanwhile, I can give you a couple safe places to dip a toe into the water without having alligators bite it off.

Favorite starting point: There's a series of stories at whofic.com, by a writer named Soldeed, that I think you'd enjoy. Sol is one of the good, sane, fun ones, and he writes in an old-fashioned action-story style I eat up like popcorn. His Road to Shalka series is great even if, like me, you know nothing of Shalka or that particular incarnation of the Doctor.

Part One is here.

I was really frightened when we first meet Jasmine, thinking she was going to annoy the crap out of me, but no. I ended up liking her a lot.

Rain? I have a vague memory of that. It's when water falls from the sky, right?
Last night I got home at 1 am to find an enormous pile of cat vomit. ON MY BED.

OH TAIGA I AM SO SORRY. I am LOLing, but I am really, truly sorry.

I'm just glad it was puke and not pee.

That's a good way to look at it, urine would have soaked through the mattress cover but the vomit didn't.
Carpet can be hard to clean, at least I can wash the bedding (sigh).

I will print this on multiple cards and hand out one whenever one of my kids asks why we don't have a cat. Bonus tmi: when it's children, you get vomit and shit - on the bedclothes, the child, and the pajamas. Been there, done that, not my turn anymore.

We've had some rain here too, and I still don't get how anyone can like it. One hour or two, yes. A whole day? No thanks. My home is a mess, so I like the landscape to be tidy - the water belongs in the sea, not in the sky or the streets.
Luckily where I live whole days of rain are rare, and floods unheard of.

But I'm happy for you, because I know you like the rain.
