Sunny and warm, but no more 100-degree days. :D

New fic going up for First Readers today. I know I've been talking about stories, and folks haven't seen them yet -- it's just that one fic (that 9K-word thing) (that nobody's seen yet, except for the First Readers) led to a prequel, and then that led to another prequel, so. I think we've got everything together now. Um. Sorry? ♥

So. Here we go. :-)

ETA that the Man Booker shortlist is out. As I had suspected, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry isn't on it, but Will Self's Umbrella is.

Umbrella, the story of a victim of the sleeping sickness epidemic at the end of the first world war, is a 400-page book without paragraphs or breaks or chapter divisions.

... O_o

Three new fics by you = happiness. Not only the selfish version (although that's how I naturally work) but it's good to know you're back.
Today was supposedly the last over-90 day for the summer here, which is lucky because school officially begins tomorrow.

60s at night sounds good. Here it's 77 as I type (ten pm) and night temperatures have been above 70 since the beginning of July or earlier.

Oh, and of course it's even better to have a third_owl collaboration and see that the old collective is rallying up. If I had any time to spare I'd read again Distress call just to celebrate (I think I've read it three times so far).

Man, I don't even read _fics_ without paragraph breaks.

Hey. I write with that woman, meaning I have to borrow her brain a lot. Please don't encourage her to break it.

I frequently do.

I am so adept at it, in fact, that people occasionally suspect me of being a genetically altered lab mouse bent on world domination.

Is this one of those the-emperor-has-no-clothes things where everyone assumes it's brilliant because they can't understand it?
