In Which Nightdog Gripes A Lot

It is Thursday, isn't it? Our a/c has gone out again, which means pretty clearly that we're going to need a whole new system soon. Very soon, as it is 92 degrees outside (that's 33.3 degrees Celsius). I have two box fans and the ceiling fan on, but I am still grumpy and bearish. Of course, we are coming up on a holiday weekend here in the States, so I don't know if anyone will be able to do anything (except try and jerry-rig our current system tomorrow) until Tuesday. No, I don't want to hear any suggestions, and no, don't tell me jerry-rig isn't a real phrase, because it is.

Also I have written another post-episode fic. A short one, this time, but it's more Final than the other recent ones I've written, if you know what I mean and I think you do. Heh. Anyway, I will post it tonight. There may be one more fic in the works, in which case I will end up with the Nightdog Finale Quartet. But it will be a happier one than the one tonight. I promise.

33'C? I don't blame you for being cranky.
I like the idea of the Nightdog Finale Quartet.
This may cheer you up. The New York Times has created a Tumblr to post historical phtoos from its vast collection.

33C at 7pm sounds like July, the perfect occasion for wearing a thin cotton dress, straw-and-cotton shoes (or minimal leather sandals) and sipping a mixture of tap water, ice cubes, and mint syrup.

If I had a yard, I would just wear a bikini, lie in the sun (with high octane sunscreen, as I expect you to live rather south) and sleep. I love over-30 temperatures and was probably a lizard in my previous life :).
