Dark and damp today, but it's stopped raining.

Two of the things I should do today: fold and put away laundry, and cut some more chicken-wire for another tomato frame. One of the Black Prince plants has grown so tall it's over-reached its original frame and its top is falling over. How tall is it? It's taller than me, and I'm 5'6".

Still reading Bring Up the Bodies (I'm a little more than halfway through now), and have also been paging through the new volume of Jack Gilbert's poetry that my husband gave me for my birthday (Jack Gilbert: Collected Poems). Actively writing on another Housefic, this one a historical AU set in the 17th-century Dutch Republic. Yeah, IDEK. :-)

Looking forward to the Housefic!
Albertans love their vanity license plates and I saw an interesting one today: LVMYDNA. "Love my DNA". Wonder what the story is there.

more Housefic from you = happiness. Is 17th century Dutch a bit like the setting of "The Abyss"? It's one of my favorite books. I'd recommend it to you, along with most of what Yourcenar wrote, except that English translations are often sub-par. Her poetic prose work, Fires, is... well, it just spoke to my heart for decades.
