Wednesday and a Fic Rec

Sunny, a little cooler, but still no rain. Must run some errands today, as I have been neglecting them, choosing instead to spend my time online, feverishly reloading pages, looking for new House spoilers. Yes, I have no life. But no more -- I must go out. :-D

Tried a couple of our cherry tomatoes last night, and they were very good. Sweet and crisp. Started reading Hilary Mantel's Bring Up the Bodies (the sequel to Wolf Hall), and so far (the first 60 or so pages) it is wonderful. Also watched The Hours last night -- I hadn't seen it in a few years, but it was just as melancholy and lovely and luminous as ever. Ed Harris is just great in it.

The fic rec is for jezziejay's newest. It's a short post-episode tag for "Post Mortem," a small riff on friendship, truth, and the proper place of alter egos. Spoilers for the ep if you haven't seen it. The story is called With and Without You, and I highly recommend it.

I just logged into LiveJournal and saw the new spoiler (I usually never do this at work but I have been lately due to all the fannish stuff going on!) and find I can't make comments anymore. Any clue on why that would be?
I've never seen The Hours, what's it about?

Huh, that's weird. The h_w post isn't locked to friends-only, so that shouldn't make a difference. I don't know. I was able to comment earlier today, and other people have commented since then ...

The Hours. It's about three women, in different historical eras, dealing with the issue of suicide. One of the women is Virginia Woolf. Like I said, it's very melancholy, but it really is very beautiful also. :-D

I really just wanted to stick my fingers in my ears and sing "La-la-la" about the spoilers for the rest of the series, but now I'm looking for them. I'm supposed to be out of the fandom, dammit! The willpower, it is non-existent weak. :-D

Well, you know, I was wondering if I should post the spoilers I see to DW's house_wilson. Not as in "stealing" them, but I'm online enough during the day that I often see the spoilers pop up on Twitter. I don't know if there's that much interest in them over here, though. It seems to a pretty dead comm.

It rained again today and has turned off cooler. I had to dig out wooly socks to put on when I got home from work.

I used to try to remain spoiler-free, but now I enjoy reading them too much to give them up. :-P

It was a lot cooler here yesterday and last night! It was refreshing.
