Tired and ugh. Did manage to vacuum today, though, so that's good. Also we seem to be in the migration flight path this year of these little guys -- Red Admiral butterflies. Here's an article about them in our area. And here's another. They're really pretty.

Hey! We have these, too! :D I've some pics from last year on my harddrive somewhere... Do you get many butterflies in your area?

I see. It's interesting, the Red Admiral and the Swallowtail are even called the same (though it's a different subspecies in the latter case), only the Painted Lady is much more mundane here, its name meaning Thistle Butterfly. We don't have the Monarch, though it's still a rather well known species I think. Some of our more common ones (like the Peacock) seem to be endemic to Europe/Asia. I'm always thrilled to see them and my perception is that we had a lot more when I was a kid, but that might be a subjective thing.

Pretty! We get those here too, though I'm not certain I've ever seen them. Once, though, I was hiking and the area was thick with Spring Azures.
