Sunny, warm, birds singing. Watched a big blue jay take a splash-bath in the deck bird dish. Stripped the bed for new sheets, folded and put away some laundry. Finished Louis Bayard's Mr. Timothy last night, really enjoyed it. Wonderfully researched, an exciting plot (with mysterious kidnappings, breakneck chases, and an evil lord) that carries you right along -- I'm actually surprised no one's made a movie of this yet, unless everyone who might do so thinks that the Sherlock Holmes juggernaut is simply too big. Oh well -- at least folks can enjoy reading this very entertaining book. A strong thumbs-up from me.

Took my first Arimidex (anastrozole) today. 1,824 to go. :-)

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll take the book under advisement for when I have a bit of free brain power again.

Best of luck (i.e. *no side effects, no side effects, no side effects*) with the medication. :)

Heh. It's possible the library has it, but the local public library is by default small and only sparsely book enabled. (Whatever the bestsellers are, yes, not too much beyond, and reference works which are at least a decade old, typically.) I haven't bothered with it beyond an initial look-in when I first moved. The nearest academic library is much better supplied, but by the time you calculate fuel to get there I might as well buy the title if it's inexpensive. :D We'll see -- it sounds like the type of thing I would enjoy, so I'll make a note of the title and get around to it at some point.

Good side effects of lj: help me realize how lucky I am, always living at a short distance from a decent library.

Glad to know the rads didn't make you feel too bad. Hadn't heard about Anastrozole, everyone I know in the business took Nolvadex (and no one had serious side effects, but maybe they were lucky).

Now see here, body, you are NOT going to act up with this treatment.

Yo go, girl! You and your awesome t-shirt!

Cool! My mom and the mom of my best friend got Tamoxifen post-menopause, but that was '95 and '97 respectively (and they're both healthy! w00t!) and my ex upstairs neighbor who's getting Tamoxifen now is pre-menopausal (and younger than me, yikes! Still, caught very early). Thanks for clarifying.

(pulls out calendar, tries to figure out how long still before menopause, curses)

Go you! (Gotta love when the possible side effects are diarrhea AND constipation...)
I'm so annoyed, I just discovered that my public library is compatible with all e-book readers except the one I just bought.

On that note, I must say that those orange-essence-flavored ~Dried Plums~ (because "prune" is such an ugly word!) are actually really good.

Yay for whole grains, fruit and nuts. And long relaxed walks. Fruit (fresh and dried) and nuts are so delicious I can never believe how healthy they are.

I think you should plan something wonderfully exciting for the end of that countdown.

I might be adding Mr. Timothy to my reading list. I love the idea of an AU to A Chrismas Carol
