Too warm and too humid -- temperature and dewpoint combined make it seem as if it's 100 outside (which would be 37.8 degrees Celsius). Also it feels like it should be Thursday. Maybe even Friday, but at the very least Thursday.

Watched The Shawshank Redemption on TV the other night for the umpteenth time and decided to reread the novella. So picked up my old paperback copy of Stephen King's Different Seasons (a Signet Classic from 1983, costing all of $6.99).

Red's race is never specified (i.e., he's not necessarily Morgan Freeman).
The poster Tim Robbins (Andy) has on his cell wall when he escapes isn't Raquel Welch, it's Linda Ronstadt.
Tommy (who had the new evidence that could've freed Andy) doesn't die -- he's merely transferred to a minimum-security prison.
Brooks Hatlen (James Whitmore), the old con who's finally paroled after spending decades behind bars, doesn't hang himself.
The incident with the LP record, where Andy broadcasts opera through the prison PA system, doesn't happen.
Warden Norton (Bob Gunton, in a chilling, slimy role) doesn't commit suicide.
Oh, and Andy's a short little guy. Tim Robbins is six five. *g*

Yes, I know none of those should be considered spoilers, seeing as how long the movie's been out, but I've seen folks called on the carpet for less. So. Better safe than sorry.

All I've got for right now.
