Eight photos beneath the cut. Dog, lizards, hilarity ensues. This was all just about an hour ago. *g*

There's a lizard in there! I saw it move! (The plant is a Rhipsalis pilocarpa. Contrary to what the site says, the spines are not sharp. I call it my Fuzzy Green Caterpillar Plant.) Note the bright green anole lizard ON THE BASKET.

It's in there ... I know it is ...

There you are!

The object of the hunt.

Needless to say, chair, plant, and basket all take a tumble.

But wait, there's another one!

They've gotta be here! Why can't I find them?

Curses! THEY ESCAPED!!!
My poor dog. She's such a genius. :-D

Date: 2011-06-08 12:56 am (UTC)She's come close to catching one when they're on the ground, but yeah, she's pretty hopeless otherwise. She'll make half-hearted runs at birds sometimes -- what she really seems to have a prey drive for are cottontails and cats, so I try to keep her away from those.
I love it that in these shots her ears are tipped forward, which is her I'm-very-curious look. *g*

Date: 2011-06-08 01:49 am (UTC)The Beast used to try to catch this particular chipmunk at my parents' place and never did. One time he started stalking it and it froze. The Beast crept closer and closer to this rigid chipmunk until he was only a paw swipe away... then the Beast stood up and walked away. I guess it's true that cats can't see something unless it's moving!

Date: 2011-06-08 05:02 am (UTC)The anoles are adorable little guys. The funny thing is we never used to have them here. It's just over the last couple of years that their population has really taken off.
