Warm with hazy sun, temperatures continue to creep up. The dog is coping by lying in front of the box fan (we have central air and ceiling fans, but box fans really help keep the air moving). Haircut and grocery store today.

For the Doctor Who fans (me!), good news that fourteen new episodes have been ordered, although their scheduling is uncertain as of yet.

So. Onward.

The time/temp thingie outside the neighborhood Walgreen's read 100 about ten minutes ago. How accurate, I'm not sure. I do know we usually don't get the high-for-the-day until around 3 or 4, though, so whatever it is, it's probably still climbing.

Not sure when the cool front is supposed to show up, exactly. Sometime overnight, I think.

Holed up in the apartment today where it is cool and there's internet access, working on Cyrus' portrait, which is going quite well. I'm taking a bit of a break for food, secondary coffee, and checking in online, and then I'll be back at it.

NOAA.gov is one of the more accurate weather forecast/condition reporting systems out there. It's quite nifty.

Hi there!
I agree and use a smallish box fan to keep our A/C moving around and find that this trailer cools off better when I do. Chango knows apparently knows what to do. :)

I just posted my agenda for today on my page. I think I'd be a Dr. Who fan if I could watch it. I didn't even know it existed until 2005 or 2006 after Mare introduced me to a couple of episodes at her home here in FL. I think I'll check the library catalog.

Happy erranding. :)

Just think of all the Who episodes you can spend the summer heat checking out.

Speaking of heat, we went from a high of 60 degrees a week ago to (currently) 92 degrees. Summer in the midwest, huh? (What I really want to know is why, when it's 92 degrees, were there women hanging out in the sauna at the Y? It wasn't a "dry heat" thing either, since they were pouring water on the heater.)

My husband is on a business trip to Maine, where today's high is 64 degrees F. It's 90 here, and that's actually pretty good compared to last week, when it hit 104 one day. We could get that sauna effect just by walking around the front yard. :D

Oh, Corgigirl! We know about stepping into the sauna by going out the front door, here in SW FL. (see icon) Talk about making ya drag yer behind. Wow!

How long does the mouse get to play while the cat (mr. corgi) is away? jk =)

He'll be back Thursday night. My playing usually consists of consuming all the weird vegetarian meals he won't eat when he's home. :D

I play in a similar fashion, as in eating things only I like. :)
Happy feasting. :)

Were the sauna ladies doing a pool plunge afterwards?

Not based on the way they were (un)dressed.

Yay for New Who! Most of the old episodes are on Netflix instant viewing, and when I say "most" I mean "all the way back to 1963." But you can start with 2005.

Warm and dry here, and if it keeps up like this I'll take part of tomorrow to go for a walk in the park. Of course, I'd call 97 F "warm" so long as it stays under 70% humidity.

When it gets that hot, you keep moving and stay hydrated and you're fine. When it's that hot and humid, you wilt. Makes me miss California and want to visit Australia in turn.

Thank you for the Netflix tip about Dr. Who and the older shows. :)

Also, avclub just started recapping classic Who, starting with the first episodes. (They said they intend to basically start by recapping the first episode of each new Doctor (as much as they can) then select other episodes, rather than chronologically.

HI NIGHTDOG!

Our downstairs stays pretty cool because of the wraparound porch, but we use booster fans upstairs to pull the cold air from the vents and circulate it up into the air.
