Dreaming in Rings

Remember this post I made a while back, where a group took images from the Heliospheric Imager in the NASA STEREO project, strung them together and made a mind-blowing little film? Yeah, this is like that. Except this time it's from the Cassini Mission spacecraft, and it's Saturn.
Watch this. Please. Via Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy, it is beautiful, and astounding, and deeply eerie, and ... yes, mind-blowing. It's like ... space. Dreaming. :-D

Date: 2011-06-03 05:14 pm (UTC)I've been doing less profound things this morning: making a simple logo-type thing for myself, and printing up flyers I can fold into thirds (with logo on outside) and mail to some of the local upscale preschools that surround me in this neighborhood. The image I'm using, of course, is Sir William. :-)
Heading for the studio today since I didn't yesterday. I feel better about having to go do commission work after doing salvage art of my own. Go figure.

Date: 2011-06-03 05:50 pm (UTC)I am still just sitting here. *g* Trying to decide if I want to go out today or not -- it's supposed to get up to 97 this afternoon.

Date: 2011-06-03 06:20 pm (UTC)And done some Business Crap, and ... am hungry, which might shed some light on that whole "grouchy" thing. Probably should eat something before going to studio.

Date: 2011-06-03 06:47 pm (UTC)Meanwhile, I ate but am still grouchy, so I am not sure what's up. Since as you know, "grouchy" is hardly my default state.
Maybe it'll improve once I get to the studio? I hope.

Date: 2011-06-04 02:34 pm (UTC)Mare, my observation has been that only four things ever make you grouchy: annoyances to do with certain people that come up, lack of food, disrupted sleep and too much stressful juggling. Make that five things: a piece of art that wont come together after a good fight, but its been a long time since thats happened. But even so?
Your "grouch" is so tame that it amuses me, so take comfort in knowing that your mood is not totally wasted.
*beams at you and sips some half calf*

Date: 2011-06-04 02:43 pm (UTC)Saturn is my favorite planet, second only to earth (cuz I live here), and all it's fascinating life forms. Lol. This was a really great little movie. You mentioned dreaming and it really does feel like a dream, in a way. Space is so fascinating as are the oceans.
When I was a kid I dreamt in black and white. I don't know when I stopped remembering my dreams, but I do know I had some dreams in black and white. Weird. I've wondered if it has some significant meaning.
