Tonight's Episode, Part II

So I just watched the interview with the writers, Peter Blake and Katherine Lingenfelter.



It wasn't a hallucination. House really did crash his car into Cuddy's dining room. Nobody mentioned Vicodin, brain tumors, or any other possible cause other than pent-up rage.

I may retreat permanently into fanfic, in that case. If next season proves that this is just something House did out of anger, I don't think I can keep loving him as we see him on the show.

It could be that there are factors they can't talk about without spoiling future plots, and I sure hope that's the case. But it's not much hope at this point.

I get the pent-up rage; I get the anger. House does not think ahead about the consequences of his actions, so I'm sure he thought "I will crash into that empty room and that'll show her" not considering at all that anyone may have wandered into the room at the last minute.

I don't understand nor condone House getting away with it: House being happy that he's destroyed any kind of relationship with Cuddy and abandoned Wilson.

TBH, I think that's the position we as viewers are supposed to take away from this -- that we can't condone what he's done. I don't think he's gotten away with anything -- if he's screwed Cuddy over basically forever and wrecked his relationship with Wilson, what's he gotten away with? Nothing. He's more alone than ever, and while he says he prefers being alone, I think that's bravado talking. What I think the writers have done is set up for "House's journey back to humanity," whatever that means.

I dunno. House is an asshole, and I think people forget that sometimes. Not that it excuses AT ALL what he did, I'm just saying -- House is an asshole, and this is him in full-on asshole mode.
