Gorgeous weather -- sunny, clear blue skies, cool temps, and the humidity has finally dropped. Got a lot of housely stuff done yesterday, including putting new gingham sheets on the bed. Oh, the excitement!

So. In news everyone has been waiting for, Ashton Kutcher will replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. For a million bucks an episode. If only Nathanael West were still around. *g*

If I were a betting woman, I'd betchya $20 this lasts all of, oh, three episodes before the novelty's gone and the utter crash in ratings sends it down the toilet.

Eh, we'll see who's right. I think the first episode or two will get fantastic ratings as everyone tunes in to see the train wreck, and then ... they'll be over it. I don't think the show will work (in whatever way it worked before) without Sheen; that's not because I admire him but because he was not a character one can easily replace.

WOW LOOKIT YOU WITH THE SPRINGTIMEYNESS UP IN HERE.

Ahem.

I don't think anyone is worth that much money for a half-hour tv show. It also makes me sad for my nation that that particular show is as popular as it is. *barfs*

Gingham! Yay! I love gingham and have nothing in that pattern, thanks to living with nothing but males.

I'm with the TV critic who said two and a half men is what it would take to hold him down and force him to watch the show. ;-D

It's a rather hot day here. I had to go to work and then to get my knee looked at and now I'm home to a house that seriously needs cleaning.

I've spent my day, so far, doing a number of housely things.
I just finished lunch and am about to head out the door to throw some paint on two canvases and get the fern paintings started. =]

I had to google gingham. Another amazing new word to add to my English. And I like your spring theme!

Here it's also pretty warm, but I keep the window closed a lot because inside it's cooler this way (the walls are about 16 inches thick and isolate well).

I try to do as little housely things as possible (unless you mean Housely fics). I love my cleaning lady.

At least the UK papers will stop referring to Hugh Laurie as the highest paid TV actor. Just a gap of a few weeks beween Charlie Sheen's implosion and Ashton's contract.

A million dollars an episode??? It just baffles me that this show is worth so much money when I don't know anyone who watches it! As blackmare said upthread, I can't see it succeeding once the curiosity factor fades and that will take one or two episodes. Like that show John Ritter was doing when he died, they tried to keep it going and it failed.
