Tonight's Episode
May. 9th, 2011 08:14 pmOkay, what I'm going to say here first?
I'm just going with the flow now. I'm not sure what show I'm watching now -- it's still mostly House, but it feels to me like the writers are really reaching these days.
Having said that, I'm still enjoying the show. And I (mostly) enjoyed this episode. The patient (the woman) was interesting. The boxer, not so much. It's always fun to see House playing his mad-rat mind-games, although it wasn't so fun this time to watch him neglect his "real" patient.
The sideplot with the experimental meds was interesting, and the partial destruction of Wilson's office seemed a pretty clear callback to "Lines in the Sand."
Liked watching the team, and liked Thirteen a lot. Could have done without the return of Psychoanalyst!Wilson, but sheesh, I'll take all the Wilson I can get in an episode. Also, it was really nice to see some Foreman-Wilson and Foreman-Cuddy scenes, and nice that the writers (for once) took the time to lay out their (Wilson's and Cuddy's) concern.
I don't think I have anything else at the moment.
Right, dinner.

Date: 2011-05-10 01:23 am (UTC)Alas, I can never underestimate the sheer WTF-ery of a writer trying to plot their way out of a corner. And at this point, I wish they would just put it out of its misery.

*g*

Oh, well. I'm remembering Castle, however.
That time of the season, again

Date: 2011-05-10 04:48 pm (UTC)TBH, I think a good number of the Wilson-blamers fall into the St. House of Woobie camp, in which House must be protected at all costs, no matter what or how many stupid and/or outright dangerous things he does, and no matter how many times he abuses his friends. Which he does because, y'know, he's driven to it and it's all his friends' faults for being crappy friends.
tl;dr ...
I'll readily admit that Wilson has done things that I've disliked or didn't agree with. He's a human being, and human beings screw up sometimes. House is a human being, too. 'Nuff said.

Date: 2011-05-10 05:29 pm (UTC)Exactly, and I meant to mention something like that. We as viewers have the Big Picture -- one almost might say we have the God-like View, because we see everything, including what some of the characters don't. House is planning to do something idiotic, so Wilson should stop him? House is
sulkingbrooding, so Wilson should rush to comfort him? I could go on and on, but no, Wilson can't do any of those things, because Wilson doesn't know. And that's where you get into the "Wilson's known House so long, he must have some secondary Spidey-sense about what's happening." And then that just leads to more circular arguing (in other words, nowhere).
