Okay, what I'm going to say here first?

I'm just going with the flow now. I'm not sure what show I'm watching now -- it's still mostly House, but it feels to me like the writers are really reaching these days.

Having said that, I'm still enjoying the show. And I (mostly) enjoyed this episode. The patient (the woman) was interesting. The boxer, not so much. It's always fun to see House playing his mad-rat mind-games, although it wasn't so fun this time to watch him neglect his "real" patient.

The sideplot with the experimental meds was interesting, and the partial destruction of Wilson's office seemed a pretty clear callback to "Lines in the Sand."

Liked watching the team, and liked Thirteen a lot. Could have done without the return of Psychoanalyst!Wilson, but sheesh, I'll take all the Wilson I can get in an episode. Also, it was really nice to see some Foreman-Wilson and Foreman-Cuddy scenes, and nice that the writers (for once) took the time to lay out their (Wilson's and Cuddy's) concern.

I don't think I have anything else at the moment.

Right, dinner.

I saw the rat at the end and thought: "Maybe, finally, something that House won't be able to wriggle out of?"

Alas, I can never underestimate the sheer WTF-ery of a writer trying to plot their way out of a corner. And at this point, I wish they would just put it out of its misery.

I don't know how much of what the actual payoff was was actually known, but having a little of the fandom freak-out over the previews, I got a lot of satisfaction from seeing that it's Housian self-treating in search of a miracle cure, rather than drug seeking behavior going on. Very screwed up, and very House.

Also, Wilson's winning ... would you call that a celebration dance? Or maybe an awkward alleluia? -- was a great bit.

So...I reminded Mare to record tonight's ep...and 'I' totally spaced it out. Lol!!
Oh, well. I'm remembering Castle, however.

For what I am reading this the episode that had the traditional "Wilson is the worst friend ever, whatever poor House is driven to do in the next couple of episodes is Wilson's fault" scene set up for the finale. This is what every year makes me wish I did not care so much about an imaginary character....

I've always had great sympathy for Wilson because I once had a friend who was brilliant, difficult, fun, unconventional, and had a deeply self-destructive streak. Over the time the last quality took over, and one night she took every pill in the house with a bottle of wine. So I do understand Wilson's drive to keep House alive. Sometimes poor Wilson comes across as a border collie frantically trying to herd a rogue elephant, but he's a character that I believe most adults who've been in similar friendship-caregiving relationships do identify with.

Yes, to both of your posts. Last week there were several posts saying "Well since I (fan) notice that something is wrong with House, why is Wilson not noticing, it's because he is a lousy friend". And I kept thinking "Maybe you read the spoilers and know what's coming so you can see the signs, Wilson didn't and can't".
