Cool temperatures, light wind, completely clear blue sky. Beautiful weather.

Finished Steve Stern's The Frozen Rabbi yesterday, and I really liked it a lot. Except for the last page. And the protagonist's girlfriend, because Stern cannot write a teenage girl to save his life. But my main problem was that last page, because it was completely unbelievable -- which is saying something for a book whose plot revolves around a 300-year-old rabbi who's been frozen in a block of ice for about 250 of those years and then revived. That's how unbelievable the ending was. The rest of the book is terrific (except for that girlfriend). So ... read it but skip the ending? You won't be missing anything. *g*

Otherwise ... not much. Penultimate poem of the month coming up.

I kept reading that title as "The Frozen Rabbit" until yesterday. Oh, brain.

You are not the only one who found the ending lacking. One of the reader reviews on Amazon: "I liked the metaphorical aspects but did not like the ending, which seemed rushed, inconsistent with the rest and downright.....well, loony would not be too strong a word."

This morning I've been cleaning house and also fixed the faucet of the shower, which those bozos at RotoRooter had told me would have to be completely replaced next time the handle fell off. All it needed was a new screw, since the old one's threads were worn where it seated inside the tap.

I HAVE ALREADY VISITED THE PUPPIES, NIGHTDOG.

Even while sleeping, they are adorable. IT IS A MIRACLE I WILL GET ANYTHING DONE TODAY.

While I was watching there was one who was trying to sleep apart from the pile by balancing up on the side of the bed, and he just sort of s l o w l y slid back down into the group. SO ADORBS, BB, I ALMOST KEELED OVER.

EDITED: Because I just went back, and they are STILL SLEEPING, but the whole entire pile has moved to the OTHER SIDE OF THE BED. EEEEEEEEEE

One of the puppies has gotten away from the pile and is sleeping by himself. And look at their little masks and little pudgy puppy feet! *love*

It snowed here AGAIN! Arg!
Your reaction to The Frozen Rabbi is how I felt about My Sister's Keeper. Good book until the last two pages, at which point I threw the thing across the room.
