Rain, wind, thunder and lightning late last night and early this morning as storms rolled through. Refreshingly cooler than yesterday, with a fairly steady wind out of the north northwest.

Nothing else at the moment; first poem of the week coming up shortly.

It is cooler today here, too, but sunny and about sixty which is wonderful and yet I'm stuck in my office. Bleh.

I'm sitting around waiting on the septic tank service guy to show up. He's now an hour late, so we shall see if he makes it here today. *sighs* But it's a gorgeous day -- cool, sunny and breezy -- so it's not too much of a hardship to sit on the porch and read while waiting. :)

We have the windows open and the Rangers/Tigers baseball game on. I've been reading about Angie's List, which has been running a lot of commercials in our area. Oh, look! It costs upwards of $70 a year! And over here there's a huge flame war going on!

DeeLaundry joined Angie's list when her bathroom needed to be rebuilt, but she's the only person I've known who's used it.

Mercy. We may be closing the windows here because the septic guys are here and it's getting ... fragrant, like maybe their last job was cleaning the drains of someplace that used a lot of garlic in the cooking.

I don't know anyone who's used it ... I was just curious because we've been seeing more ads for it lately. And then it's one of those things where you just keep reading because you can't tear your eyes away from the people yelling at each other. *g*

We had a septic tank when I was a kid. I remember it had to be dug up once and oh my god the smell was indescribable. Guh.

They had to that at our house when I was growing up. The smell was just unreal and I'm surprised we kids didn't die of something from playing on the pile of dirt that was left.

Turns out ours was not bad at all and neither was the bill. I'd been having this recurring Horrible Thought that they might have to dig up the drain field, but everything was fine. :) So I won't have to think about that for another five years. :)

We've been having great weather here in sumny, SW FL. so far the humidity has been low enough to make being out of doors a pleasant place to be even in mid 80's weather. Not looking forward to the sweltering, humid heat of summer and it's rainy season. Bleh!
