Ha, I went with "choose random icon" and this is what DW picked. Okay then. *g*

Bright sun, blue sky, GIANT CROWS IN THE BACKYARD, scooping up as much corn as they could carry in their GIANT BEAKS and flying away with it (presumably to cache it somewhere). 45 degrees (7.2 degrees Celsius) with a light breeze out of the northeast.

Need to fold laundry, etc., and clean shrimp for a new recipe we're going to try. Also looking forward to tonight's House. In the meantime, have some puppies -- African wild dog puppies, born recently at the Brookfield Zoo, just outside Chicago.

PUPPIES! Oh, they're so cute! The mother's beautiful too, and I love her wise, alert expression.

I'm not a fan of collards, but the addition of bacon and shrimp could get me to eat anything. :D And won't it be funny in the spring if the corn the crows cached starts sprouting? People all over the neighborhood may wonder why there's corn growing in their flower beds.

We're substituting Swiss chard for the collard greens. :-D

Hee, we get corn sprouting in our backyard from the squirrels hiding the kernels! It grows some, and then I think the rabbits eat it. *g*

Cleaning is proceeding apace over here and now I ... have to tackle The Desk.

Heh, I think it's those BIG ROUND BAT EARS that lend the puppies the "ug" in "ugdorable."

I've washed up the breakfast dishes and coffee pot stuff -- I'll probably fold clothes next.

Corgi puppies have ears a lot like that when their ears first stand upright. Looks like they could take flight in a high wind. :D

Corvids are such beautiful birds.

I've gone grocery shopping and even though the laundry basket's almost full, I think I'll put that chore off until tomorrow.

These crows really are beautiful -- their feathers are shiny, their eyes are bright, they look very healthy. They're just so big. :-D

You're entirely certain they're not ravens?

Yep, I've seen ravens. These guys' beaks are smaller, their necks aren't as big, and their call is a distinctive cawing sound.

They're just ... really big crows. *g*

I think West Nile Virus resulted in a race of Super Crows. Only the strongest ones survived it, and now they're mating and making some crow-zilla babies.
