Warm, hazy sun, windy. 78 humid degrees (25.6 Celsius). Waiting on the cold front. Stuff to do today, husband working from home.

I'm taking a lunch break while the desserts for tomorrow are cooking. We're having a deep dish pumpkin pie (nothing fancy -- the recipe comes straight off the back of the Libby's pumpkin can) and a chocolate bundt cake with a chocolate-hazelnut filling. Sort of like Tunnel of Fudge cake meets Nutella. :D It looks fancy but spares me the nerve-wracking process of trying to assemble and then transport a layer cake.

If further inspiration strikes, I might whip up a cherry pie. You can never have too much pie. :)

The cake came out really pretty. All it needed was a little buttercream glaze to dress it up. Can't wait to taste it and see how the cream in the middle came out.

As I was cleaning up the kitchen, I asked the guys if they wanted a cherry pie, and they both yelled "YES!" and began pulling the ingredients off the shelves for me. So there's now a cherry strudel pie in the oven. Everyone will be in a sugar coma after eating all this stuff.

We're having Mexican food out tonight, though, because I'm tired of cooking. :D

Finishing lunch here in Hondaville, and generally feeling pretty good. Snow has begun to swirl around the Cities, and if we are very blessed it will still be snow, and not sleet, come evening. But we have no promises there.
