Another beautiful day -- 67 degrees (19.4 Celsius), with a light breeze out of the northeast. Lots of birds out today -- chickadees, jays, robins, woodpeckers. It's supposed to be in the low 60s every night this week, so I foresee putting the cheap lightweight quilt on the bed.

Here is something I thought was really cool -- early Kodachrome color movies. One's a very short (1:41) clip from a 1916 film, with a playful little twist that made me smile. The other's a slightly longer (4:34) film test from 1922.

IN OTHER NEWS! I'm done with my task for the day--the lecture is finished! Now to write my notes on it while I'm eating my sweet-and-sour pork, and practice it a bit.

HI NIGHTDOG!! *waves*

It was delicious! I made it for supper last night. *g*

I don't feel done yet--I'm still writing notes out! But I'm sort of practicing in my head as I go, so it should sound pretty smooth once I get there. I'm very glad I canceled class. :)

Wait, you cancelled class?

I wish I could do that with my classes sometimes. But the Art Center never ever shuts down even when it's night classes and 8" of snow has just fallen and it's still coming down hard and heavy. They're kind of stupid that way.

Yep, I cancelled class. They still have to do a quiz today, online, but class is Not Meeting. :)

Do you have discretion over canceling classes, even if the Art Center isn't closed?

Well, I meant for food. I have had Coffee the First and am about to go get Coffee the Second.

I can hear my mom and/or my aunt, downstairs in the sewing studio, quilting like a madwoman on the machine. :-)

*g* That sounds like fun. Although you may not want to get yourself in the way! :)

I am...submitting my revisions for MS #2. And crossing fingers.

*crosses fingers too*

I found a nice big spider in my room this morning. Not Florida big, mind you, but plenty big enough to be scary when found so close to the place where you have to sleep.

I need to make a List for when I get home.

OK IT IS GONE! Here's hoping.

And I've got to leave to give my talk in another 20 minutes or so, so this will be an Exciting Day. :)

We're supposed to have one night in the upper 30s next week. I'll have to break out the long jammies. :D

It's a slow day here, but a good one: the rainy morning was spent inside all cozy with coffee and fic. Now, after a little gym visit, I'm going to head out to see if I can find a replacement for my broken water bottle. Even metal can come loose at the seams if it's dropped wrong.

It was just another day on the mine site here. Sand, mud, cold and today rain. I do look forward to being office-bound again.
