Tired and blah for about 95% of the entire day. It was nice this morning, almost cool, but just now I had to turn on the AC in my car coming back from the store. It's 89 degrees at the moment (31.7 Celsius).

Saw a small woodpecker, a Downy or Hairy, at the birdfeeder this afternoon. :-)

It was not too hot today, but it's so awfully dry. We had a hummingbird at our feeder this morning, the first one we've seen this summer.

Because my bum shoulder had been aching all day, I stopped at the drug store on the way home and got some Icy Hot, which now comes in a stick just like deodorant. Corgiguy said, "I bet it's not fun if you get those mixed up." :D

We don't see too many hummingbirds around here -- I wish we did, because they're magic tiny birds.

Heh, if you got the Icy Hot and the deodorant mixed up, you'd probably have to run around flapping your arms like a chicken. *g*

Hee, I just uploaded that icon a few minutes ago! I thought it was ADORABLE. Take and enjoy -- it's by angiescully, who does mostly House/Cuddy and a few Wilsons as well.

ETA that should have been LJ-user angiescully. I don't know if she's on DW.

Hey, I had another day working at the mine site. At least we were supposed to be working. They were adamant that this project had to be finished TODAY!! but then after an hour they just... took off. And didn't come back until late afternoon. So I spent five hours, count them, five hours just sitting on my rear wishing I'd brought a Sudoku book.

Oh, Taiga, that's AWFUL. Sadly, it sounds like Typical Management. :-(

You know what the thing about that is, though? In other places this results from people being lazy, not doing there work. Here it's from people having too much work to do. These guys* took off because they were needed on half a dozen other jobs. We can't say screw 'em and hire another company because that other company would also have too much work to do and the same thing would happen. There just aren't enough workers to go around.
*The foreman on this work crew is constantly on his phone, it's ringing every five minutes at least, and his ring tone is the theme from The Lone Ranger :)

I can't jump up and demand "LISTEN TO HER!" which grates on me when other people do it for other things - I know I need to say why they need to listen to her. How she has a power to make even ordinary phrases her own, as she did with "The Needle Has Landed."
