Thursday, with Icons

Sunny and steamy. 88 degrees (31.1 Celsius), feels as if it's 97. Which is very true, because I was just out in the backyard refilling the spare feeder for the squirrels bigger birds. The burst of dove feathers was still there; Chango sniffed at them but took no further interest. Alarm went off at 4:30 so Mr. N could make his 7 a.m. flight to Miami -- I tossed and turned for a while and then fell into a long, complicated dream that ended with Wilson lying to a butcher behind a meat counter at a grocery store and thinking to himself that he was becoming just like House. And no, I have no idea what he was lying about. WTF, dream?
Was messing around with Photobucket yesterday and made a few icons -- they're under the cut if anyone would like one. I don't claim any of them are any good, but I thought I'd share. *g* Sources are referenced and all are work-safe. None are fandom-related.

This is something called an "Art Deco topper." It's a sidebar graphic from The Errant Aesthete.

Brooklyn Bridge in snow; photo by Michael Magill from The Errant Aesthete.

Also from The Errant Aesthete, the mouseover just says this is "Chez_Mondrian.sc."

This is from A Journey Round my Skull, which always has a lot of strange stuff.
And finally ...

Matisse's goldfish, swimming forever in a clear glass tankard. From a Google Search image, here.
So. Nothing else at the moment.

Date: 2010-07-15 05:04 pm (UTC)I've got a House marathon on USA (with the constant warning scrolling across the top of the screen, telling me I'm not ready for Comcast's digital transition and need new equipment to avoid service interruptions). Have been cleaning up a bit, and have figured out a schedule for the next small mural gig, and emailed the client.
Two in one month? Is this a sign of actual economic recovery?
Need to get to the bank and then have the oil changed in my truck.
Also: I clearly need MOAR COFFEE because I completely forgot to tell you that I really, really like your icons. They have this quiet, contemplative quality (well, most of them do) that's very Nightdoggy. :-)

Date: 2010-07-15 05:27 pm (UTC)I had just, five minutes ago, wrapped up all my work for the week and was contemplating early and unauthorized parole for myself when who should pop up but the locksmith, who has had all week to get here. *grrr*

Date: 2010-07-15 05:37 pm (UTC)I'm almost done narrowing down this list of poems - two more to cut - for the little exhibit I'm designing. I'm here for another couple of hours, and I have to say it's really, really nice to be in a climate-controlled room during hot, humid days.

Date: 2010-07-15 07:08 pm (UTC)I really like that Rainbow Club icon! No idea when I'd use it, but I'll cheerfully nick it and credit ya (and the source, if it fits in the credit box!)
The others are pretty good, but that one lept out at me!

Date: 2010-07-16 12:06 am (UTC)I read the comment thread above about Wilson being beseiged by crazy people. Given his brother is Danny and his best friend is House, he does seem to be a nut magnet. Maybe House sends actors into the clinic pretending to be crazy people as an elaborate practical joke. Or he's working on a clinical trial with patients with a particular type of brain tumour (Canadian spelling) that makes people crazy.

Date: 2010-07-16 02:07 am (UTC)It's hot and very rainy here lately. *ugh*
I didn't sleep worth a darn last night myself and was mostly unproductive today. However, in my case it was a dreamless night. That actually means I don't recall the dreams. Here's hoping we both do better tonight.
