Cloudy, humid, and warm. 83 degrees (28.3 Celsius). A squirrel just galloped across the roof, but Chango is dozing in her den.

Need to get out and do a few things, so I'll just mention that Rand Paul is at it again and get going -- Paul says criticizing BP for the Gulf oil spill is un-American. Why? Because sometimes, accidents just happen. No, really. Of course, sometimes companies cut corners, and endanger their employees, and proceed to shamelessly lie about it. But we won't talk about that, because the President is being mean to British Petroleum.

Holy crap, I don't even.

Guess they decided to press the reset button. Heh.

This just gets...well, I can't exactly say better and better, because WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

I kind of wish I lived in Kentucky so I could be sure to NOT VOTE FOR HIM.

Isn't it just amazing? You should go read [livejournal.com profile] m_supercomputer's post -- Paul even says something about recent mining accidents. That kill people. In places, like, y'know ... KENTUCKY. AND WEST VIRGINIA.

That puts my day into sharp perspective. I'm growling at myself for measuring some materials incorrectly, but as mistakes go...well, cardboard's recyclable. I just have to wait until a new shipment of boards gets in.

I hope the more this guy talks, the deeper the grave will be for his political ambitions. Eventually even the stupid people will catch on that he doesn't have a brain in his fucking head.

My BFF came over this morning with her beautiful new grandson and the grandson's mommy. Aside from the wild 45 minutes of housekeeping we did before they got here, it's been a quiet day. And now it's chilly and thundering.

Because cutting corners, etc. are totally accidents too. What. The. Fuck.

(I think this icon is forever gonna be associated with Rand Paul.)

His opponent is missing an easy opportunity on this: "Rand Paul believes foreign powers should be able to take our oil, pollute our water, and get away with it. What would George Washington and all our founding fathers say about that? They, sir, would cry."

Nightdog, you don't understand! He just wants to have a debate on the government's right to criticize private companies! You can't come up with examples and discussions about causes and responsibilities and people that suffer from those "accidents"!

It's seriously amazing. But now he is making it almost too easy - every counter-argument sounds like a "stating the obvious"-contest. On the other hand, I'm afraid there is a very pronounced "sacrificing people for principles" attitude behind this, and that's rather dangerous.
