Hazy sun, 76 degrees (24.4 Celsius). Have a couple of things to do today, so here are a couple of interesting clickies:

In the "I couldn't make this stuff up" department -- teenager digs up grave, steals foot. And then he approaches a pair of police officers and basically says "Hey! Guess what I've got!" Side note ... this is where I grew up. For real. And I had no idea this cemetery was there.

And to allay some of TEH CRAZY from the previous article, here's some baby owls. *g*

Aren't they beautiful? Such wonderful eyes!

I hear screech owls every now and then around here, but they really stay out of sight. :-(

I saw a snowy owl once, but that's it.

Oh, man. I feel so sorry for his mother. :( But the owlets are just the cutest things ever.

It's a lovely partly-sunny day here, and I need to go stake the tomato plants and see if the mister needs any help with the yard work.

He can't wait to get out so he can GO DO SOMETHING ELSE. YIKES. It is sad -- he sounds like he needs a lot more help than he's been getting -- but at the same time I'll bet his cellmates are giving him a really wide berth.

I haven't done very much except get a couple of things ready to mail. And then there's this story (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/050110dnmetextradition.3f243a2.html) (mistaken identity at a traffic stop) which is tickling my brain. As you might imagine. *g*

If the judge has any sense at all, Mr. Foot Chopper be sentenced to the state mental hospital. The only problem is that state hospitals tend to turn people loose when they've been stable a while, and that kid will never be stable.

That poor guy at the traffic stop! And, yeah, I'm not surprised it was Alabama that did it to him.

Rusk and Terrell used to be the best-known state mental hospitals here, but apparently there are actually quite a few (http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/mhhospitals/default.shtm). And I'm sure they're all sadly underfunded.

It's just amazing how much went wrong in that traffic stop case. I'm still not sure why he was never assigned a lawyer. It's probably a stretch to put Wilson in this situation, but considering all the other bizarre stuff that happens in Real Life (legal details falling through the cracks, people getting lost in the shuffle, a cascade of procedural failures) it might be possible.

Hi Nightdog hi! *waves*

I think I may make some oolong tea, just for funzies, while Z and Grandma are outsideplaying in the sandbox. I've so far this afternoon managed to tie up my clematis, so it grows on the trellis instead of all over the yard. Hee.

Hi Perspi!

I dropped a couple of things at the post office and stopped by the grocery store, so now I don't have to go out tomorrow. And now it's looking like it might try to rain.

Clematis is so pretty! But I haven't seen it grown very much around here.

You people with your weekends.

*huffs*

Today was actually really nice. Seven hours on the job site, but they were good, productive, pleasant hours.

HI MARE HI!

*glomps*

Yay, for a good time at the job site! :) This evening we've been watching Up, and Z has enjoyed it, mostly. The only thing she didn't like was when a bird tried to eat a cane and spit it back out, all full of slime. I don't know why that made her cry, but she didn't like that part. Hm.

I'm pretty wiped out from our day, and I feel a little guilty for only grading about five small things, but oh, well. I'll get over it. ;)

Well, he's schizophrenic and out of control, won't stay on his meds, so it's kind of tragic, not so much stupid.

Nope, I agree -- it's tragic and sad and scary.
