A hazy sort of sunny and warm (85 degrees). Weatherguys are still saying it's supposed to be hot today with a big cooldown tomorrow, and I sure hope they're right.
Working on a long-ish crack!fic ... and need to refill all the bird feeders and the water dish. Think I'll do that now before it gets really hot. Nothing else at this moment. Yes, very boring, I agree.

Either they need their glasses checked or I should write a testimonial letter to Cover Girl about the wonder of undereye concealer because several of them said, "You look so well rested!"

Date: 2009-08-26 05:32 pm (UTC)THIS! I'm glad it's not just me ...
We need Geoffrey Goodhouse to come and hypnotize us both. :D
Well, and he's British, which is an added attraction. ;-D

Date: 2009-08-27 02:16 am (UTC)Somehow I'm thinking of that optician's clock; remember that? That 'verse, whatever it was.
I too have often suffered from the problem of lights-off/brain-in-overdrive. So much so that I've discovered I can very often get to sleep by leaving a light on, and stretching out and telling myself I'll get up and turn it off later, when I'm ready to actually fall asleep. I'm just resting for a while, that's all. Procrastinating.
I've procrastinated my way out of insomnia many, many times.

Date: 2009-08-27 02:24 am (UTC)Hee. I miss you when you're gone all day. Although being gone all day is a good thing for you.
The optician's clock would fit perfectly with Geoffrey! I don't know what ficverse he belongs to yet -- all I know is that he's a doctor, he has a bodyguard named something Grim-something, and that Geoffrey cut Wilson's cheek with a scalpel and made him believe he'd cut himself shaving.
Yeah, our Dr. Goodhouse is a nasty piece of work.

Date: 2009-08-27 02:35 am (UTC)After loading up scaffold and buying some materials and lunch for the day, I got started around 11:30 and finished just after 8.
This job ended up taking WAY longer than I'd thought it would, because of the awkward location of every surface I had to paint. Today I took my 6' scaffold with me and set that up, and it helped a lot, but my whole right arm is so sore from doing the area above the window. Ouch ouch. I'm going to get a little merlot and a couple ibuprofen now.
