Going along fine this morning, reading stories, surfing the 'Net, and my laptop shuts down. No warning, no nothing, just fzzzzz and a dark screen. It's done this once before, a few months ago -- apparently it's a glitch with it getting too hot. Which, of course, it shouldn't. So.

Blue jays are taking fluttery baths in the bird dish. Some of them get really soaked.

Not much else right now.

We've had ducklings and cygnets around today, fortunately before I had to hang drying clothes from the curtain pole and shut all the light out of the living room :S We seem to have more laundry than we own clothes - I'm sure there's something not quite right there.

I am meant to be finishing my [livejournal.com profile] tardis_bigbang (17,333 words and counting...) but keep getting distracted by having access to all the awesome stuff we've had in so far. There are times when I really wish I had the patience to learn Gimp/Photoshop and make cool pictures like these!

Meep on the laptop! I'd suggest ice, but I don't suppose that will help ;)

Aw, duckies and swans!

Yeah, I think ice would cause a whole lot more fizzing and popping. Hee.

Could there be something wrong with the electrical outlet you use, since you had power cords burn out with both your laptops?

The guys are out doing yard work and I'm doing inside work. Need to vacuum in a few minutes and then make a salad for supper.

Nah, I think it's the machine. It's plugged into a power strip/surge protector and nothing else has ever been affected.

I vacuumed almost the whole house yesterday and it looks so much better. I should finish that today while Mr. N's gone to the store. Not sure yet what's for dinner here -- maybe turkey breast or some kind of small beef roast.

I think ours will be a small roast chicken and a pot of rice to go with the salad.

I got the vacuuming done, spot cleaned the carpet in a few places that were really bugging me and am considering dusting the downstairs really fast as soon as I finish this big old glass of ice water. It's very hot here today.

It's 93 here, with ridiculously high humidity. This is the part of transitioning into summer that I hate.

Roast chicken sounds really good -- I asked Mr. N to look for turkey breast at Sprouts. *g*

*just fzzzzz and a dark screen*
I just hate it when that happens. My cell phone does that.

I could watch birds playing that way for a very long time. It's nifty.
Heading out to a wedding reception by 4pm and then my boss is having a "fashion" show (of competitive ballroom gowns) an hour later. She asked me to attend and therefore I will go. She's been good to me and so why shouldn't I give her the support.

Having said that...I must go a.f.k. and get cleaned up for the evening away. Have a great day errybody. *waves*

HELLO!

The painting is FINISHED YAY! and we are now putting the light-switch covers back on and the cabinet doors (which needed to be removed to paint the wall right next to them) and now we can finally, finally say that we have painted the ENTIRETY of the walls and ceilings in the house. *sigh*

I don't hurt at all today, but now my teeth ITCH underneath the plaster-cast stuff, and the cast on the roof of my mouth is starting, just at one corner, to come loose. Which means I'll probably have it worked off by tomorrow--tongues don't tend to leave stuff alone!!

Anyway. I am having a pretty good Saturday. We went to the park and I got to swing on the swing, we are going to have grilled steak patties for supper, and we got to cross a big item off the to-do list. :)
