Sunny and 80 degrees. Chango is looking out the front window and barking.

Finished Shaman Pass yesterday so will be picking up something new to read. Not sure what yet. Also finished tweaking a Houseficlet so will put it up here.

Not much else at the moment ...

Hey! I am barnward-bound so won't be around for a while.

Have fun today; I'm sure I will. :-)

I've been puttering around the house today and reading newspapers online. In just a bit we're going to the movies to see "Up." It looks really cute from the trailer.

I've read nothing but good things about Up. It's supposed to be a lovely film.

You'll have to give us a review. :-)

It is lovely, and sweet, funny, tender-hearted, and action-packed. There's a long section at the beginning with that wordless storytelling that Pixar does so well, and for that you really should have Kleenex handy.

it's saturday, which means boring housecleaning and a trip to the drugstore again to pick up meds. and that's about it. doesn't look like the kid is going swimming today, which kind of sucks. :p

*nods*

Housecleaning is amazingly boring. I think the only thing that makes it bearable around here is that Chango helps. A lot.

Hee.

I just read American Rust by Phillip Meyer. There's a brit author called Roger John Ellory and he writes what I call literary thrillers and like me loves Steinbeck so he got me on to American Rust. It is half thriller, half literary and half bewildering, but I think you might enjoy it. It might be just up your alley.

Thanks for the rec! American Rust sounds very familiar, like I've seen it mentioned somewhere else, probably in the NY Times. I'll put it down in my "To Read" notebook!
