Overcast and very damp -- 55 degrees, with 86% humidity. It may have rained a little overnight but it's hard to tell.
Need to do some housecleaning today. Can't remember any dreams, but I did wake up knowing that "ladles" are standardized units of measurement (like cups and tablespoons) in some yet-unknown ficverse. Mmmm-kay.
More coffee is in order, I think.

I slept well, at least I thought I did. So why I found it almost impossible to get out of bed, I don't know.
Sometimes that seems to happen if I'm fighting off some sort of bug and don't have other symptoms yet. Eh, we'll see.
Oh. I need to jot down a couple lines before I forget them. And then go downstairs and get More Coffee.

Date: 2009-02-17 08:13 pm (UTC)Stopped at the coffeshop on the way home, bought a raspberry-white chocolate scone which may or may not turn out to be a good idea, and am heating some soup so I can have that and the scone for lunch before dashing out again.
Just had to come up here and let my buyers know the shipping cost on their drawings so I could get paid. So that I too can fill my shirttails full of groceries.

Date: 2009-02-17 07:50 pm (UTC)I made some small raisin/rosemary loaves for work on Sunday, and this morning one of my co-workers told me he'd taken one home and had it for dinner. The whole loaf, with a bit of butter and jam. It still makes me grin to think about it.

Date: 2009-02-17 08:23 pm (UTC)My scone from the neighborhood coffeehouse (an independent, not a chain) is delightful. I begin to understand what all those UK people are on about. :-)

Date: 2009-02-17 10:40 pm (UTC)However, I actually managed to get alot done today. Still procrastinating on the sink full of dishes though. Most of what I got done was letter-writing, mailed stuff, made exchanges at the store, library returns, etc. Now, I'm just tired and hungry.
I picked up a sinful Apple Fritter and am about to go consume my dinner and have it for desert. I have not had a fritter in eons/years. I have been a good girl about pastries and decided to try one again. Had a donut awhile back and wished I hadn't. ICK! I hope I have the same reaction to this thing because then I won't want them anymore, ever again.
I have recently begun referring to this phenomenon as "Egg-Nog Syndrome".
I have a friend
she knows who she iswho once really loved egg nog so much that she became physically ill from over consuming the stuff at one time, if I recall correctly. Now she can't drink it anymore. Hence the invention of the syndrome name. I do not want anymore regular donuts ever. =DFood and faux coffee is in order. *toddles off*

Date: 2009-02-17 10:45 pm (UTC)I didn't realize you got sick off a donut. Poor girl. I'd be rather upset if I couldn't ever have another Krispy Kreme Original Glazed.

Date: 2009-02-18 12:03 am (UTC)Well, thankfully this was not a Krispy Kreme which is made much better. I have no idea what that was. It was either a grocery chain model or Dunkin Donuts variety...but while I did not puke I wished I had have because it would have been over with much faster. It was the feeling of "urgh & queezy can I please throw up already feeling" for several hours along with plugging the proverbial plumbing. I think I ate glazed glue or something!
Right now I am heating my dinner and then a fritter desert with hot cocoa. We're back in the 40's tonight! *\o/*
