Nanofic: Five Things Wilson Knows

Just a bit of goofing around. Spoilers for tonight's episode. 152 words.



Five Things Wilson Knows


1) He doesn't know what's going on with House and Cuddy, except that he does. There's no way it can end well, but then what else is new? They'll tear each other apart, and he'll be left to pick up the pieces. If he can even find all the pieces.

2) Dana walked away from the war, and he still doesn't know why. But he thinks maybe he understands.

3) Canes are expendable. Legs aren't. That's why he finally goes to Cuddy, after walking in on House's skinned knee.

4) The room in Wilson's parents' house looks the same way it did the day David left -- posters on the walls, a portable TV set, the rabbit ears forever awry, a plastic water cup with the water long since evaporated.

5) Wilson looks at the green mug in the dish drainer. House, he thinks, would have broken it, a long time ago.

I had a Massive Brain Failure in which I somehow did not connect the fact that it was Monday with the fact that House would be on. I think the Tuesday schedule is just too ingrained after all these years.

So I forgot to record it and now I am kicking myself.

Heh. Personally, I thought it was kind of an uneven episode. There was lots of Wilson (comparatively speaking), and Taub had some wonderful lines, and we got to see Foreman's naked chest (yes, more plz). Otherwise ... a whole lot of Thirteen.

These are all little gems (I particularly like the one about House's skinned knee), but #4 is so vivid and painful.

Heh -- it suddenly struck me that #4 would be a painfully apt (albeit painfully obvious, hee) parallel.

And I've just noticed I used the word "cup" in both 4 and 5. I'll have to change one of those to glass or mug.

Heh. I think House is a real "cutting the Gordian knot" kind of guy, and that he would've deliberately dropped the mug on the floor and said "See? Now you can move on."

Yup...I got that. I'm not that blunt, but I'd have tossed it when Wilson wasn't looking and then said: "It got broken so I tossed it. Now you have one less thing holding you back." *grins ebilly*
