Hello, March!
Mar. 1st, 2018 05:47 pmSunny and chilly here today. Set out another suet pack and refilled a thistle sock for the finches. It turns out thistle seeds smell somewhat sweet, a bit like alfalfa. It's a very pleasant scent, very spring-y. While I was in the backyard, I noticed our neighbor's plum tree looked like it had flower/leaf buds on it, so I walked over to it ... and startled a cottontail rabbit in our neighbor's yard. It's unusual for them to be out during the day -- I hope they're not scouting out our backyard to have tiny baby bunnies in like they did last year. O_o
Last night started reading the new biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder -- Prairie Fires, by Caroline Fraser.
It is election primary season here, so we have been getting non-stop political ads. I think I speak for MANY fellow North Texans when I say that those politicians with the initials D.P., A.P., P.H., and G.P.B. can all go DIAF. (I would include G.A., but he hasn't really been running that many ads here.) What a gang of mendacious little shitweasels.
ANYWAY. Here, have something adorable. Really. :D
