Sunny Wednesday

So two of the Early Girl tomatoes were ready to try over the weekend, and omg SO GOOD. Sweet and tender and juicy, with hardly a trace of acidity. They are just terrific, and I will definitely buy more/plant more next year.

Still reading Blake Bailey's biography of John Cheever and am a tiny bit more than halfway through. It is an excellent read -- Cheever could be funny and witty and charming, but it's all offset by what a patronizingly cruel asshole he was to his wife and daughter (and one of his sons, for a while). :(

Really liked the second episode of Penny Dreadful -- I can't remember the last time I was staring at the TV in absolute shock, saying out loud "WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WHAT." Eva Green, Harry Treadaway, Alex Price, good god almighty. And Simon Russell Beale -- "Well, I won't invite HER again." LOL

That's all I've got at the moment. :D
