Unseasonably warm here today -- 94 degrees (34.4 degrees Celsius), with a light breeze out of the south. Watered all the deck plants (with Chango's help) -- the tomatoes are doing great, but it looks like the squash, while making gorgeous yellow blossoms, aren't producing any ... well, squash. :-P

What else? Here's an interesting long read from Rolling Stone on the Russian government and the ongoing suppression of dissent. Although Livejournal is not mentioned by name, an entity that sounds very much like Frank the Goat makes an appearance. Read it here ==> Putin Clamps Down: A Chilling Report from Moscow.

Still reading Hild and enjoying it, although I have got to admit there are way too many names starting with Æ. Also I am kind of thinking the glossary and pronunciation guide should've gone at the beginning of the book. Or maybe the editors thought that a family tree, map, AND glossary and guide would have scared off potential readers, so as a trade-off they put the latter two at the back. IDK.
